Smile Long time BMW owner

My first BMW was a 1971 2002, brand new bought in England. Over the years I've had 12 mostly 3 series. When I ordered a 1M two or so years ago and didn't get it I decided that if that's the way BMW treats its loyal customers then I'll not buy another. I bought first a Porsche 911. Now I have a Cayman S. I stopped by my local dealer yesterday and drove an M235i. Very nice car. Don't like the idea of only 14 gallon fuel tank and run flat tires. Gave them a deposit but time will tell.
I am retired but still working as a consultant/investigator. I live in Southwest Florida and drive locally every day. The Porsche is getting difficult to get into and out of with this old body and back problems.
I have found more valuable info from this forum than from the dealer.

Do you still have the 2002?
I love those cars and always dreamed of getting one but I don't have the means to keep a mint condition 2002.

I only wish I had the 2002. Had two of them, a '71 as noted above and then a '76. I've got an M235i on order but am torn between accepting that car or keeping my Porsche Cayman S. A very difficult decision. I'm well above retirement age and it's getting more and more difficult to get in and out of the Porsche. Time will tell.

Obert, when you're as old as I am you too will have a lot of experience. Over the years in addition to BMWs I had an Audi Quattro (1984), Saturn (yuck), VW GTI (1992), Ford Fiesta (1978), two Acuras, Mini Cooper S (2007) one of my favorite cars, Porsche 911 (2005), a Volvo wagon (1971), a Lotus Cortina (1966) and a few others.
