future M235i owner

hi all,

I currently own a Subaru liberty/legacy 2006 gt sti , modified it a fair bit. ive been looking for a new car for a while now and was considering the CLA45AMG,but I cant wait the 6 to 12 month waiting list. I visited a BMW dealer yesterday and took the M135i for a drive and liked it a lot. the salesman showed me details about the M235i and now doing research on that. looks like it could be on top of the list now, so ill be looking through this forum for more guidance and inspiration.

im from Sydney Australia and have to wait till march till the dealer has stock.
look forward to seeing and learning more.

my mates mother has the M135, so would prefer to wait for the M235I, I think the 2 looks better as well.

the 1 series is ugly now that we have the 2 but I can't lie, i really liked the 1 series at one point.

fair enough. Also just realized you were considering the CLA45... don't... I don't know if you've had an experience with the CLA but i will tell you from my short interaction that it feels cheap, looks cheap and is cheap.

One of my journo acquaintances pegged the '45 as a heavier less impressive version of the EVO.

that's the first bad review ive heard about the cla45,just finshed reading Australian new car and they gave it a big wrap, they didn't review the M235I, probably haven't had a test drive yet??

I reckon you could get a lot more out of the 2 opposed to the 45

thats what i heard from a lot of people and even reviewers have mentioned that it isn't that great of an AMG. /Drive said it doesn't feel like a true AMG. at $50k im not sure if it's worth it.

you can, theres a ton of power hiding in that block. If you havent already investigate some of the 135i's with a turbo tune. The same engine in the 335i (e92's) with a tune will walk the e92 M3...

I just don't think we see enough of these because people are afraid of the costs of maintaining a BMW like that, that has a modified engine, and of course warranty
