2014 BMW 2 Series Shift Knob: What do you think?

The BMW 2 series shift knob picture below, taken from a prototype 2 series coupe gives us a look at what we should expect production model 2 series coupes and gran coupes (sedans) to have.

What do you think about it?

Looks like your good old fashioned BMW shifter. It does the job, but I would probably put my own aftermarket piece on there to add my own style.

What material are BMW shifters made of? I would want something with a nice leather on it.

The shift knob looks very basic I almost wan to say cheap. I could understand why though for the lowest 2 series model I would expect this shift knob but the more higher we go in the model i would expect a much nicer one. And if they were to make an M2 then we should know already the knob will be M based.

Just hard durable carbonate plastic. Doesn't looks like anything new, it's the same usual shift knob they use in all their base models.

found some more bmw 2 series shifter pictures to help you guys out here. IMO the stock (M235i ?) shifter doesn't look that great, but good enough, I will be looking into getting a M2 shifter since M shifters always look better and have better materials.

Im sure its hard plastic underneath but the shift knob is wrapped in leather. It doesn't look the most attractive but the important thing is the ergonomics and feel of it that matters. How much different will the M shift knob look would be the better question.

Same old BMW shifter. Leather wrapped.

BMW shiftknobs are light knobs.

Is that suede I see on the seats or is it some other material. Sweet!!! I like the blue strip that they have in the interior as well. From what I read The 2 series interior will be the same as the current 1 series.

Do not think it is real suede. Just synthetic suede like fabric.
